Biography

Bo DU, aged 42, is an independent non-executive Director and a member of the Nomination Committee, the Remuneration Committee, the Audit Committee and the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee of the Company. Mr. Du is a Distinguished Professor of Hongyi Honor College and a doctoral supervisor at Wuhan University. He currently serves as the director of the Office of Development Planning and Discipline Construction of WuhanUniversity, the director of the National Engineering Research Center for Multimedia Software, the executive deputy dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence of Wuhan University, and the director of the Hubei Key Laboratory of Multimedia and Network Communication Engineering. Mr. Du’s research interests include artificial intelligence, computer vision, large models and medical image processing. Over the past five years, he has published more than 110 papers in IEEE Transactions and CCF Class A journals, with over 42,000 citations on Google Scholar and 50 ESI hot papers/ highly cited papers.

Mr. Du has led more than 30 scientific research projects, including the National Key Research and Development Program (國家重點研發計劃項目), the NSFC for Distinguished Young Scholars (國家自然科學基金傑出青年科學基金), the Excellent Young Scientists Fund (優秀青年科學基金), the General Program (面上項目), the special program for COVID-19 pandemic, the “Open Competition Mechanism Project (揭榜掛帥)” of the MIIT, as well as major artificial intelligence projects of Hubei Province and creative research groups of Hubei Province. He also serves as an editorial board member of several journals, including IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition, and as a senior program committee member of CCF Class A conferences such as AAAI, IJCAI and KDD.

In terms of talent programs and academic honors, Mr. Du was awarded the NSFC for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2022, the NSFC for Excellent Young Scientists Fund in 2018, and was named a Hubei Provincial Distinguished Young Scholar (湖北省傑出青年) in 2017. He has also received the Xplorer Prize 2025 (2025年科學探索獎), the China Youth Science and Technology Award 2024 (2024年中國青年科技獎), the First Prize of Hubei Provincial Natural Science Award 2019 (2019年湖北省自然科學一等獎), and the Hubei Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award 2023 (2023年湖北省青年科技創新獎), among others. Mr. Du has been recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher (全球高被引學者) by Clarivate and a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher (中國高被引學者) by Elsevier. He has also received best/outstanding paper awards at international conferences, including IJCAI, IEEE TGRS, IEEE ICDM and MICCAI MLMI. Mr. Du obtained his bachelor’s degree in engineering and doctoral degree in engineering from Wuhan University in 2005 and 2010, respectively.
